Pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum are often thought of as stages of life filled with excitement and joy,
yet up to one in five of women experience or develop depression, anxiety and other mental
health conditions during their pregnancy and postpartum. Research points to psychotherapy as
an effective strategy for monitoring a woman's maternal mental health, observing and coping
with shifts in mood and anxiety levels, and ensuring mothers receive much needed emotional
and behavioral support both during pregnancy and after delivery.
Studies have shown that when women experience stress, anxiety and depression, it affects
their own well-being as well as impacting the health of their developing baby. According to the
March of Dimes, prolonged exposure to high levels of stress can cause health problems, such as
high blood pressure or heart disease, and may increase the chance of giving birth prematurely.
At Holistik Therapy, we firmly believe that a mother’s experience throughout her pregnancy
and after childbirth greatly impacts how moms ultimately parent their children. From creating
and manifesting a birth plan to diving deep into and coming to terms with generational trauma
and learning how to identify and break patterns that may be holding you back physically,
mentally and spiritually, Holistik Therapy is here to support mothers during every step of the
journey into motherhood. Our goal is to provide a safe space for women to process often
repressed concerns such as body image, anxiety, depression, stress, feelings of inadequacy,
expectations and trauma to name a few.
Our newest program Holistik Prenatal offers moms a comprehensive combination of
psychotherapy, nutrition counseling, prenatal yoga, meditation for conscious conception,
pregnancy and postpartum support. We offer different packages tailored to specific client’s
needs and provide services either in-person or online depending on your location and
availability.
